Accountant

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our established accounting firm. The position will be expected to lead and manage multiple operations of the tax practice area and the financial reporting area, that will increase firm's reputation. The position will also be expected to be the final reviewer on a large portion of the tax returns and financial statements prepared. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior position. CPA or CPA Candidate is a plus. Hybrid work schedule is available. Summer hours include shortened work day and Fridays off.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within time frame
• Provide innovative tax planning
• Review income tax returns
• Review Compiled, Reviewed and Audited financial statements for Corporations, Non-profits, and partnerships
• Identify and mitigate tax risks
• Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance
• Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
• Maintain tax balances on general ledger
• Prepare complex US and state individual income, gift tax and estate returns
• Communicate with IRS and Clients in connection with audits, inquiries and tax notices

Skills

• Proven work experience
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
• Knowledge of tax software and MS Office
• Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
• Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills
• Analytical skills with detail orientation
• Proficient in Quickbooks
• Good oral and written communication
